The list of special weapons of customs officers includes stun guns and batons
The list of special means approved by the leadership is given in the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 2855-r dated 12/16/2017 "List of special means in service with border authorities", posted today on the official portal of legal information.
It is worth adding that the same order assumes that the previous document, which provided for what special means Russian customs officers can use in the service, becomes invalid.
The list includes, in particular, handcuffs and rubber sticks of "various constructive designs."
In addition to the traditional patrolling of the border using service dogs, the arsenal of customs officers will include handcuffs, rubber sticks, tear gas, stun grenades, stun guns, special means containing explosives.
In addition, the list includes various handcuffs, tear agents, light and sound distraction devices (cartridges, grenades, shots), as well as devices for forcibly stopping transport.
The Cabinet of Ministers informs that customs officers can use special equipment as part of customs squads, inspection teams, crews of customs ships and other units, and in addition personally — in the performance of official duties to protect the national border of our country.
