The transport police will receive tasers for the 2018 World Cup

Transport police officers will be allowed to use tasers, on February 19, the Moscow agency portal reports.

According to Alexey Kondratiev, deputy chairman of the SF Committee on Defense and Security, transport security officers will receive the right to carry and use tasers even before the start of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Russia.

At the moment, stun guns can be used by guards of private security companies, employees of non-departmental security, bailiffs, employees of federal postal communication organizations, officials of specially authorized state bodies for the protection, supervision and regulation of the use of wildlife and their habitat, police officers, military personnel (employees) of the National Guard of the Russian Federation and other persons.

Recall that the authors of the bill are Alexey Kondratiev, Mikhail Kozlov and deputy of the State Duma Anatoly Vyborny.
