Security with tension

  • Security with tension
The State Duma approved in the first reading the initiative of United Russia deputies allowing employees of transport security units to use electric shock devices. It is proposed to amend article 12 of the Federal Law "On Transport Security". In turn, such an amendment will officially include stun guns in the list of weapons used by employees accredited to protect transport infrastructure and vehicles from acts of unlawful interference. This list was approved by a government decree. That is, it will be necessary to make changes to the resolution. Tasers have already been adopted by customs officers, rangers, foresters and departmental guards of fifteen ministries and agencies of Russia - from nuclear energy to the State Reserve, except for transport security units.
By the way, of all the security structures, these are the most unarmed. Rather, those who guard train stations, stations, river and sea ports, airports. Russian Railways guards can only be armed with rubber sticks. Everything else, especially firearms, is prohibited. Since they serve in crowded places, shooting can cause accidental casualties. A bullet can ricochet, hit a multi-meter glass structure, bringing down a hail of fragments on people, blow up a gas tank or a fuel tank.
However, workers guarding bridges, depots, warehouses, berths, docks, sections of tracks and other infrastructure facilities are armed with firearms - rifles, carbines, pistols and revolvers, but there are no shockers.
Which is not entirely logical. As a private citizen, a Russian citizen has the right to purchase a shocker and use it for self-defense. And without any permission or license. I just went to a specialty store and bought the device I liked. But as soon as he took over the protection of the transport facility, that's all, it is forbidden to use it. Even for your own protection.
Stun guns are especially useful for subway guards. They face acute situations more often than their other colleagues. With such, for example, as a drunken brawl at the turnstiles, an attack on an inspection specialist. Sometimes a stoned youth company decides to take a ride on the subway for free. Or with such "spontaneous" phenomena as football fans or participants in rallies and demonstrations (regardless of the occasion and political preferences). Even the police and riot police are not always able to stop the crowd with rubber sticks, and it is impossible to use tear gas in the dungeon - you will get poisoned yourself, shooting, even from injuries, is dangerous and criminal, since innocent people will surely suffer according to the law of meanness.
The most realistic effective and safe option is to use electroshock devices. They will electrocute exactly the person they poke this device at. But it is possible to provide the guards not only with the usual short-range devices, when it is necessary to come close to the intruder, but also shooting ones. Such as GARD, for example. This is a remote-compact electroshock device with a replaceable clip for five shots. When you press the trigger of the device, a high-voltage discharge initiates two cartridges, from which "probes" fly out, unwinding the wire and creating a conductive line to the target. That is, two contacts are inserted into the attacker's clothes and he is very sensitively electrocuted, the discharge power is 10 watts. In the civilian version, the power will be up to 3 watts. Depending on the cartridge, you can shoot at a distance of 3 to 10 meters. The device weighs 600 grams, the power source is a lithium polymer battery. There is a laser designator - it is difficult to miss.
"It is forbidden to use shockers against children, the elderly, the disabled and pregnant women."
The most important thing is that electric shock is not fatal for a person, he will be convulsed, he may lose consciousness and be helpless for 5 to 15 minutes. Just enough time to tie or handcuff him, take him to the department or call for help. Abroad, in particular in the USA, tasers have been used by the police since the 70s. Of course, like any weapon and special equipment, shockers are prohibited from being used against children, the elderly, the disabled and pregnant women.
