The deputy from the Southern Federal District proposed to issue tasers to employees of transport security units
Anatoly Vyborny, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, a deputy from the Southern Federal District, has submitted to parliament a bill in which he proposes to give employees of transport security units the right to use electric shock devices.
"Currently, employees who ensure security in the subway, at train stations and at airports have the right to carry official firearms, but are strictly limited in their use (because they cannot be used in places of mass stay of people). By adopting this law, we will try to correct the situation and not only give more confidence to the security services, but also increase the overall level of security at transport infrastructure facilities," Anatoly Borisovich emphasizes.
Recall that in 2017, employees of transport security units seized 247 firearms, 56,500 ammunition and 32 kilograms of explosives. And they did it, being virtually unarmed themselves.
This bill has already received a positive opinion from the Federal Government.
